Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Richard "Dick" Klaus, who passed away on Saturday, January 28.

Best known to listeners as the founder and former president of Media Com, Inc. (the parent company of WNIR-FM), Mr. Klaus had a career marked by numerous achievements including the development of a Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns play-by-play network via FM relay and many other innovations in Northeastern Ohio radio.

Mr. Klaus is survived by his wife of 58 years, Virginia and three children: Robert, William, and Susan.

WNIR Night At Funny Stop Comedy Club

Jeff Gerbino knocked 'em dead Monday night at the Funny Stop Comedy Club in Cuyahoga Falls.

From funny faced, highly accurate impersonations to his comedy twisted view on politics and the Middle East, an evening with Gerbino is something that shouldn't be missed.

Jeff is appearing at the Funny Stop through Saturday and listen to the WNIR Morning Show on Friday for a live call-in appearance from Mr. 2000 Flushes.

The American Diabetes Association, Akron Area Chapter will host its 30th Annual Sugartown Express fundraiser from 4:30-7 p.m. at the Akron/Fairlawn Hilton, 3180 W. Market St.

This is an after-work party for all ages with music, dancing, food served by celebrities (as well as Stan), door prizes, raffles, silent and oral auctions.
